Solution

Either our server is down, or a portion of the Internet between you and our server is down.

It is also possible that our server is extremely busy; this can happen during peak hours, and especially when a major lottery has a massive jackpot.

A temporary workaround is to set the "Remote Database" setting in Lotto Sorcerer's Preferences window to "Mirror":
